The Groden Network, in partnership with the Rhode Island Football Club and Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, celebrated the grand opening of its new sensory room at Centreville Bank Stadium on Tuesday, July 15th. Offering soft lighting, sound-dampening elements, tactile materials, and comfortable furnishings, the room is available for anyone who may become overwhelmed by the sights and sounds of a typical stadium experience.
Located behind Section 115, the room is available during all RIFC’s home games and stadium-hosted events. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marks a significant milestone for inclusion and accessibility.
“At The Groden Network, we’re dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities to live full, meaningful lives. The sponsorship of this Sensory Room is an extension of that mission—creating not only a space, but a sense of belonging for individuals with sensory needs,” said Network CEO, Michael Pearis.
As part of the partnership, Network clients and volunteers will greet visitors, host giveaways, and have an opportunity to attend games throughout the season. We look forward to our continued partnership and furthering the message of inclusion in our community.
