Appreciated Securities
Donating appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds is a tax-efficient way to support The Groden Network. By contributing securities you’ve held for more than one year, you can provide vital resources to individuals with autism and enjoy the following benefits:
- Tax Deduction: Receive a tax deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of transfer.
- Avoid Capital Gains Tax: Donating appreciated stocks allows you to avoid capital gains taxes, which can be as high as 20%.
Before donating an appreciated security, please contact Jill Precopio so we can provide information to complete the transfer.
Qualified Charitable Distributions
Donors who are at least 70.5 years old can give money directly from their IRA without claiming as income. Charitable IRA rollovers can also be used to satisfy minimum distributions. Please consult your financial or tax advisor for personalized advice.
Our legal designation is The Groden Center and the tax ID number 04-0369378.
